É importante não esquecer que se deve adoptar uma linguagem técnica o mais precisa possível.
Assim É EVITADA a TRADUÇÃO SIMPLISTA da palavra Stop por Diafragma.

É que até pode haver vários sistemas ópticos onde nem sequer haja diafragmas, mas em qualquer desses sistemas vai haver sempre uma abertura limitadora, AS, designada por " Aperture Stop, " que neste caso não é nenhum diafragma.

Neste contexto dizemos que DIAFRAGMA = BLOQUEADOR Variável.
É que até pode haver um sistema com vários diafragmas e a abertura limitadora, AS, não ser nenhum desses diafragmas.

A luz é normalmente medida pelo fotómetro da máquina fotográfica ou por um fotómetro de mão.
