neutral  Matheus Chaud: Perdão, mas "HD de disco" é redundante... não existe HD sem disco... // Também não é correto chamar SSD de disco, IMO... a SanDisk, por exemplo, chama de Unidade de Estado Sólido: https://www.sandisk.com.br/home/ssd . Melhor, não? ;)

A ideia do termo spinning rust é depreciar os HDs, como fica bem claro nos links postados pelos colegas.

Acho que dá para traduzir sim - é só escolher um termo que também soe negativo.

"HD de disco" seria redundante (HD = Hard disk, portanto HD de disco = disco rígido de disco)
