Vântul solar este emisia de particule încărcate electric a Soarelui. Când vântul solar ajunge în zonele unde se întâlnește cu plasma din mediul interstelar, se creează o undă de șoc. Acolo se afla marginea sistemului solar, o regiune numită heliopauză. Heliopauza se află la o depărtare de patru ori mai mare decât distanța Soare-Pluto, adică 120 Unități Astronomice (120 de ori distanța Pământ-Soare). Pentru că Soarele se deplasează prin mediul interstelar, coliziunea dintre vântul solar și plasma din mediul interstelar se produce la o distantă de 80-100 Unități Astronomice în direcția de depasare a Soarelui și la o distanță de 200 Unități Astronomice în direcția opusă deplasării Soarelui. Astfel sistemul solar este înconjurat de o bulă elongată, un fel de învelis de gaz, numită „helioînveliș” sau „heliomanta”. În prezent sondele spațiale Voyager 1 și Voyager 2 au ajuns în această regiune.

Am gasit si „helioînveliș” sau „heliomanta” in linkul de mai sus.

Asker: Mulţumesc, Anamaria ! Găsisem şi eu blogul ăsta solar :), singura problemă fiind că heliosheath se află după termination shock şi înainte de heliopause. Uite aici "The heliosheath is considered the outer edge of our solar system. Around it is the heliopause, a cosmic bubble where the pressure of solar wind and interstellar wind is in balance."
