Given two sets, A and B, A is a superset of B if all elements of B are also elements of A. Contrast with subset 2. A collection of functions and commands that encompasses and surpasses the capabilities of some other specification. A hardware component or software that was created under the original specifications will operate with a "superset" product. The reverse, however, is not true. |
