Limiting Reactant - The reactant in a chemical reaction that limits the amount of product that can be formed. The reaction will stop when all of the limiting reactant is consumed.

Excess Reactant - The reactant in a chemical reaction that remains when a reaction stops when the limiting reactant is completely consumed. The excess reactant remains because there is nothing with which it can react.

Am văzut că întrebarea este închisă, totuși, un curs găsit online propune un alt termen, oferind următoarea definiție:
„Reactantul pentru care numrul iniial de moli este mai mic dect cel cerut de ecuaia stoichiometric este numit reactant limitativ (sau minoritar).”
Personal, cred că cei doi termeni sunt sinonimi, dar...

Chestiune de opțiune personală, că-n fond free din freelancer înseamnă „liber”, adicătelea liber a opta...
Cât timp se folosesc otova nivele/niveluri, apărători/apărătoare, indexuri/indecși și multe alte cuvinte asemănătoare, dar în legătură cu care DEX-ul face totuși distincție, ce mai contează o confuzie între substantiv și adjectiv?!
Eu unul aștept cu nerăbdare pătrunderea „succesurilor” în DEX.
În ce mă privește, cred cu îndărătnicie în înțelepciunea poporului român, una dintre vorbele iscate de aceasta spunând ceva de genul „Nu-i frumos ce e frumos, e frumos ce-mi place mie”.
Dar mai e și unul care zice „Măsoară de două ori, înainte să tai o dată”...

Asker: Mulțumesc, într-adevăr trebuie făcută diferența între reactiv și reactant.

Asker: În legătură cu limitator, cred că este valabil și ca adjectiv format după regulile limbii române, nu este greșit, chiar dacă nu este în dicționar. În limba franceză este " limitant" și în limba italiană "limitante", este mai aproape de sensul limitator decât limitativ.

Asker: În altă ordine de idei, este bună pedanteria lingvistică în meseria noastră.
