Pe langa dezacordul din "AN open remote administration protocolS", sintagma "open remote administration protocol" nu are nici un hit pe Google, ceea ce sugereaza ca autorul nu e un expert in domeniu. Probabil e un articol de stiri scris de un reporter care nu e de specialitate?

Anyway, intentia e probabil de a spune ca atacul s-a bazat pe un protocol de administrare la distanta (Remote Administration Protocol de exemplu - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc240190(v=prot.20).... "deschis", adica al carui port a fost lasat deschis sau nesecurizat cu ceva gen fail2ban. De exemplu, protocolul Telnet poate fi lasat "deschis", daemon-ul (prcesul) telnet ascultand la portul 22. Weak administrative credentials fac posibil un atac brute force, pe baza de dictionar, pana la gasirea unei combinatii user/password corecte.
