M-am gandit initial la "traditional/conventional" dar intuiam care vor fi criticile.

Nu prea vad cum vei reda "coloratura politica a epocii respective" fara sa te departezi de ceea ce de fapt inseamna "mainstream" care e politica "majoritatii"/viziunea politica generala.

Asker: Ei, nu prea, Mihaela, multumesc frumos! Aici e tocmai vorba despre evenimentele din 68-69 etc, cand America era scuturata de un val de proteste prin universitati si chiar pe strada, mai ales dupa asasinatele lui Martin Luther King si a lui Robert F. Kennedy (urmeaza o intrebare dedicata lui) cand nu toata lumea si nici macar mahjoritatea, nu/i asa... Cred caeste vorba despre politica traditionala, conventionala conformista, oficiala, ceva de genul acesta si as dori daca se poate un exemplu de traducere al acestui termen. Aiici este vorba despre politica establishment/ului, if you know what I mean... Vad ca cei care traduc pentru parlamentul european au coined a phrase in Romanian: politicile principale, dar ma intreb daca e bine. Ce crezi?
