The Danfoss power stack is a high-quality power conversion assembly and is a major building block in any larger power conversion system. The assembly comprises of stacked and customized IGBTs (insulated-gate bipolar transistors), which gives power system suppliers the opportunity for unique performance parameters, differentiating their products from their competitors'.

I like better «модульная сборка». You know why they call it a stack? This is originated from casino (I am a formar casino dealer as well). When you win in a roulette, you receive a *stack* of chips. A stack is consiting of a 20 chis, it looks like a "little tower".

So when English-speaking engineers/designers comprise IGBTs to a stack, the final product is literally a "power stack". When Russians comprise something, they call it сборкa. One nation derives the name from the final shape, the other nation derives the name from the method of comprising. I love the cultural differences :)
