в данном случае переводить следует "mask selection"="selection" = МАСКА, потому что в видео так сложилось исторически. достаточно часто маски и выделения смешивают, но по сути это разные вещи: выделения в редакторах (в растровых) - всего лишь контуры, маски же обладают, например, прозрачностью, и больше похожи на слои, хотя и привязанные к слоям основного изображения. в видеоредакторах выделения создаются именно масками. довольно часто mask selection сокращают до mask или selection, особенно, в одном предложении.
