In action the kit was really interesting to play! There was a fair amount of bounce with the toms on their mounting systems as expected, but they stayed put through some long sets. The bass drum too had an initially slightly disconcerting to-and-fro bounce due to the floating rubber spurs design but again this never budged an inch out of place on the rug. As a result you could never really have the factory option to mount toms on this shell should you wish to (plus the shell was possibly too thin) – if that is your preferred setup then look to the Starclassic range.
