That organization is 4-H Head Heart Hands Health 4-H will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2002 and this site is dedicated to all of those individuals who have participated in 4-H over the years. Each month we will be featuring a decade. We want you to decide which are the 10 most important events of each decade. You choose from 20 events and then the top 10 events will be highlighted. Vote on the current survey. We began the surveys in November, 2000 with the first decade, the Early Beginnings of 4-H - 1902-1912, and will continue until we reach the 10th decade, 1993-2002. The important 4-H events of each decade were selected by 4-H'ers, 4-H staff, volunteers, alumni and others. The original concept for this site was created by 4-H'ers who were members of the Centennial Consulting Group at the 1999 National 4-H Conference. A conversation involving more than 100,000 youth and adults from every county in 55 states and territories is being initiated by 4-H to launch its second century in youth development. 4-H members, during their stay in Washington, DC for National 4-H Conference, visited members of Congress to introduce the "National Centennial Conversation on Youth Development in the 21st Century." Patterned after successful national conferences on Small Business and Aging, the Centennial Conversation on Youth Development is to culminate in Washington, DC in February of 2002.
