For example, someone may have a small number of followers, subscribers or friends across many social networks, but whenever he taps his keyboard, the pearls of wisdom are shared by millions. That would push a Klout score up. Likewise, an individual with a huge network could be ranked on the low end if his utterances were largely ignored.
