Preletač predstavlja osobu koja nije u potpunosti lojalna određenoj političkoj partiji i može 'preletati' sa jedne na drugu stranu, odnosno glasati za kandidata one partije za koju se ne deklariše kao sledbenik ili čak postati član neke druge partije.
Nesiguran birač je onaj birač koji izjavljuje da nije siguran za koga će glasati.
Presudni glasači su oni čiji glas odlučuje pobednika na izborima.
