Reč salutogeneza vodi poreklo od latinskog ‘salus’ ili ‘salis’ što znači zdravlje, a grčkog ‘genesis’ što znači poreklo. To je reč koja se koristi da opiše novi pravac u istraživanju koje se bavi izvorom zdravlja u vezi sa telom, dušom i duhom.
