English to Serbian translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Psychology / Business communication
English term or phrase: Schmooze/Schmoozer/Schmoozing
Kontekst:
E-mail negotiations, over considerable distances with strangers, misses the traditional social lubricants: getting to know your opponent, breaking ice, small talk, background chats, rapport building. Michael Morris and his colleagues call this the 'schmooze' factor. Can negotiation outcomes be enhanced with some schmoozing? This question intrigued them, so they decided to put it to the test. They compared e-negotiators who had a prior, just five-minute, phone call to chat about themselves (but not about the actual negotiation) with negotiators who were communicating exclusively by e-mail. The 'schmoozers' developed more realistic goals, generated a bigger range of outcomes and were less likely to conflict and flame. A little schmoozing, it seems, can go a long way.

Dictionary entry for schmooze:
Making ingratiating small talk – talk that is business oriented, designed to both provide and solicit personal information but avoids overt pitching. Most often an artifact of “networking.” It is more art than science but can be learned.

Ovakvim prevodom vam izmice sama sustina reci schmooze: "in order to manipulate, flatter, or impress".

(bez ikakvih skrivenih namera)!

U pitanju nije držati ćapraz-divan / unterhaltovati / bogougodno ćaskanje "da prođe vreme";

dodvoravanje? ulizivanje?

neutral  sofijana: "an exchange of ideas via conversation", "a warm heart-to-heart talk" - ne bih rekla da se radi o dodvoravanju/ulizivanju, već pre o ležernom/neobaveznom razgovoru... bez obzira na cilj :)
1 hr
