The common snook (Centropomus undecimalis) is a species of marine fish in the family Centropomidae of the order Perciformes. This species is native to the coastal waters of the western Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, from southern Florida and Texas[1] to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

Explanation:
Nisam uspela da nađem tačan naziv ove ribe na našem jeziku, verovatno zato što joj je prirodno stanište Atlantski okean :) ali bih probala opisno, npr. riba iz reda grgeča ili atlantski grgeč ili nešto slično sa latinskim nazivom (Centropomus undecimalis) u zagradi.
Ovo je u svakom slučaju riba iz reda grgeča:

Grgeči (lat. Percoidei) su podred riba iz reda grgeči (lat. Perciformes). Dijele se na tri nadporodice u kojima ima više od 70 porodica i nekoliko stotina vrsta.

Ipak je definitivno grgeč, na osnovu ovog 'Nile perch' - Labrus niloticus tj. Centropomus niloticus (iz linka za 'Nile perch') se vidi da su oba latinski nazivi za istu vrstu ribe:

Drugo ime za Nile perch je African snook (Centropomus niloticus) pa odatle zaključujem da je 'common snook' (Centropomus undecimalis) definitivno grgeč, tj. centropomus = grgeč.

U godinama prošlosti, kože fileti često purveyed kao "red snapper" na Floridi. Dok stručnjak mogao reći razlika u muskulatura, fileti od malih pokaz dugi nos su sigurno balavca jednaka u okus. Danas, to je više važno ribu u Meksiku, Srednjoj Americi i Južnoj Americi od istočne Kolumbije u Brazil. To je općenito poznat kao Robalo na španjolskom govornog područja."

neutral  Mira Stepanovic: To je 'mašinski' prevod termina snook: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/snook (značenje pod 2) i po mom mišljenju se ne može primeniti za naziv ribe. :) To cock a snook at smb. - napraviti nekome veliki nos, ref. Benson.

  -> Isto mi je ovaj naziv cudno izgleda ali je jedini koji sam nasao da se koristi... npr. na moj jezik se zove "żuchwiak" koji se bukvalno prevodi kao "celusnjak" ali mislim da to nam nece pomoci :)
