And with his cane Colonel slashed the horse's quarters so brutally that the beast bounded forward all but unseating her rider.

zadok koňa
Explanation:
V angličtine quarters, hindquarters, hind quarters. V češtine hýždě, záď. Najvhodnejší slovenský ekvivalent sa mi zdá byť zadok.

Notes to answerer
Asker: "hýždě" je pochopiteľne český názov - slovensky je to "zadok" (viď Česko-slovenský slovník © 1981 stránka 117)

bočná časť (štvrť) kopyta koňa

Explanation:

Samozrejme - ja som chovateľ koní (i keď momentálne už mám len somára), preto som vo vysvetlení uviedol zadok.

  • Quarter: The side to rear region of the hoof behind the toe, where the hoof begins to curve.

Notes to answerer
Asker: zdravím Michal - ale asi by sa ťažko dalo jazdcovi švihať koňa trstenicou po "kopyte" - to ten "zadok" bude asi vhodnejší - inak samozrejme ďakujem Hlísta

Asker: ach "you’re devil in disguise" - hneď som si vravel, že to je sakramensty odborné poňatie - expert sa jednoducho nezaprie i keď to istotne musí byť drahá záležitosť - Dušan
