Following the report on the application of the aid for the production of certain grain legumes for the period 1996-1998, the Commission proposed that the Council allow the scheme to continue, with the MGA subdivided between, on the one hand, vetches and, on the other, lentils and chick peas, on the basis of a 60:40 ratio in order better to reflect the different end-uses of the products in question, i.e. animal feed for vetches, and human consumption for lentils and chick peas.
