Depende del tipo de sembradora. Por ejemplo, las semillas de maíz son de distintos calibres (ej.: 9, 9.5, 10, 11, etc.) y de distintas formas (chatos o redondos), por lo tanto, las sembradoras llevan unas placas que se ajustan para el tipo de semilla y calibre que se va a sembrar (ej.: semilla de maíz chato 11).
