agree  Charles Davis: I agree with temeraria for reckless. This is approx. the UK offence of dangerous driving, whereas careless/imprudent is UK "driving without due care and attention". I don't think "careless" and "imprudent" are different offences anywhere in the US.

  -> Thanks, Charles. Some US cities even refer to them as "C&I offenses". In any case, they are simply placeholders for specific traffic violations, such as those listed above, similar to the way "felony" and "misdemeanor" are used.
