Pues la entrada de aire es por una cascara, no necesariamente de metal, alguien puso casting (implica metal) en lugar de housing (cual puede ser plastico).

Es un aparto en Iowa para descargar granos de mais, trigo....... vease a ' https://patents.google.com/patent/US8657898

En el pasado filtroa de aire de tractores de llanta (1956 Moline, Johne Deere) usaban spirales que segun el peso y turbulencia, separaron polvo del sistema, sin necesidad de pasar por papel o un banho de aeite.
