English term or phrase: young plants
Thanks for your help in advance. This text is related to greenhouse growing production of tomatoes. In Spanish I have found "plantón" for young plant. Are there any other options? Could "mata" fit in this context? Thanks again.

The young plants are exposed to high levels of solar radiation, soaring temperatures and extremely low humidity
