La frase reza: "The shelf life of produce or produce materials, including whole plants and parts thereof including fruits, vegetables, tubers, bulbs, cut flowers and other active respiring plants or plant materials, is typically determined, at least in part, by the amount of an ethylene hormone generated by the respiring plant material."

Mi traducción: "El periodo de validez de productos o materiales para la elaboración de productos, incluidas plantas enteras y sus partes, que incluyen frutas, verduras, tubérculos, bulbos, flores cortadas y otras plantas, o materiales vegetales con respiración activa, suele estar determinado, al menos en parte, por la cantidad de una hormona etileno generada por el material vegetal con respiración".

No estoy segura de "respiring plant" lo traduje como "planta con respiración" porque me suenta mejor que "planta que respira"!! pero quizás haya algún término más correcto....¿algún experto que me pueda aconsejar? :)

En un registro muy formal diríamos "planta respirante", pero de verdad que yo me quedaría con la opción "planta que respira".
