neutral  Stephen D. Moore: I've never been on moorland, but from the pictures I've seen, there are significant differences between that and the páramo I knew in Ecuador. Rosario, I'm not sure of this, but I have the impression that "moor" is used for temperate-zone ecosystems.

  -> OK! I've seen "moor" in a book about ecosystems in Latin America. In the chapter about the paramo ecosystem, the word paramo is defined as "moor" or "moorland". But yes, "paramo" (without accent) is also in the chapter. Thanks for your comment.
