neutral  Neil Ashby: "quelpo" doesn't appear in the dictionary of the RAE, it only seems to apply around Patagonia. The Collins ref you quote states "(botany) "quelpo m (de Patagonia)" ", so it seems to be a specific name used for a certain kelp or in a specific region.
