Check out the link I attached, there you can see a picture of an example of an English Marriage Certificate translated into Spanish, there they used "Registro Civil".

La imagen es una foto del libro que mencioné arriba (Borja Albi (2016), "Estrategias, materiales y recursos para la traducción jurídica inglés-español") y lamentablemente no viene el documento original solo la traducción. Es un libro muy útil para traducir documentos legales puesto que vienen muchos ejemplos.

En cuanto a tu pregunta, supongo que depende del contexto si añades "oficina" a "registro civil", por ejemplo, en el caso que creas necesario especificar que se trata de una oficina y no del libro del registro civil.

Asker: muy agradecido, Virginia, el documento se parece mucho. Aunque no está el original, supongo que dirá Civil floor. De hecho, la traducción dice Oficina del Registro Civil, ¿crees mejor incluir oficina en el glosario? saludos!

Asker: es verdad, encontré una guía de uso y parece muy completo... te preguntaba cómo encontraste la imagen por saber cómo la habías localizado, con alguna fórmula en el buscador o así :) respecto a la traducción, me pregunto si ese civil floor, viene a ser algo como planta, división frente a otra sección "no civil" (¿religiosa?, ¿para nobles?), una suposición no más
