Hi,

I'm working on a crime drama series and there's a scene where two characters butcher a deer. One of them adds that it is better to hang the deer since it is better for "bonding", do you know what it refers to? Is there an equivalent in Spanish?

BEN- You were gonna hang it--

MARC- Well... I thought maybe it would help a little... you know, bonding.

No tiene nada que ver con "hanging" el venado - un proceso que permite que la carne madura y toma un sabor más fuerte.
La idea de "bonding" entre dos personas, o entre madre y bebé, o hasta entre un hombre y su perro, es la de conseguir una íntima vinculación entre los dos seres a través de un periodo de proximidad muy cercana.
En el contexto muy corto que ofreces, da la impresión que:
1. Marc habla de forma satírica, o inocente, o en broma.
2. O que quiere establecer un vínculo entre él y el venado. (??)
3. O siente que él y Ben pueden vincularse mejor si cuelgan el venado.
Tu tendrás una mejor idea de los carácteres en el libro, y podrás juzgar por qué Marc dice lo que dice, pero te aseguro que no tiene nada que ver el venado, que tendrá pocas ganas de establecer un vínculo íntimo con el tipo que lo mató.
