Medical - Medical: Health Care
English term or phrase: Wallaroos
Environmental Rounding is an opportunity to teach and remind Caregivers about egress points. Opportunities for improvement continue to persist, requiring ongoing attention by every Caregiver, every day. Common issues found include:

Items stored on both sides of the hallway

Items, not in active use, left in the hallways

Stationary items, without wheels, in the hallway

Wallaroos down and not in use

Hola a todos: entiendo que debe ser algún elemento que se usa en hospitales pero no encuentro referencia alguna, entiendo que está roto y no se usa.

Saludos

agree  Althea Draper: The Wallaroos are cabinets that open up to become workstations, desks or medicine storage. Others are security cabinets that limit access to a select number of people.

Escritorio de pared

Explanation:

In my opinion, the word down can be applied to wall desk but in the case of cabinets it would be more appropriate another word such as open, for example. That is why my preferred choice in Spanish would be escritorio de pared.

disagree  Althea Draper: This is too narrow. Yes, some do convert into desks, but some become workstations, some are medicine cabinets, and others are security cabinets.

-> I know the suggested definition is narrow. However, the phrase is wallaroos down, which perfectly matches the description of a wall desk but not of a cabinet.
