NO la Legión al Mérito. Es USA quien otorga la Legión al Mérito. Por eso en el texto que preguntan y la referencia de Taña calcaron el nombre.

En esta publicación del DOF por ejemplo, se da el permiso a un militar mexicano para que acepte la "Legión al Mérito" que le concede EE. UU.

Pero a un extranjero, el Gobierno de México le otorgaría la "Legión de Honor" mexicana - sí, está copiada de la "Legión de Honor" francesa, como tantas otras cosas en México.

agree  Robert Carter: Yes, I think you must be right, Abel(?), it's me who was confused :-)//Yes, I had understood that, but I had somehow understood that this was the US award, awarded to a Mexican. Clearly it's the other way around!

  -> Así es Robert!! Hay una confusión porque en USA le llaman "legión al mérito", pero SEDENA otorga la "Legión de Honor" !!
