target potency vaccine vacuna de eficacia objetivo Explanation: Potency requirements The eighth report of the WHO Expert Committee on Rabies suggested that inactivated veterinary vaccines with a potency of less than 1.0 IU per dose, as measured by the NIH test, should not be licensed or released unless an adequately designed experiment has demonstrated a duration of immunity of at least one year in the species for which the vaccine is to be used. The potency of live and inactivated vaccines should be ascertained at intervals after they have been distributed. Inactivated vaccine, even in liquid form, and lyophilized modified live-virus vaccines are relatively stable when stored under proper conditions. To verify that storage conditions are adequate, it is recommended that samples from the field that are approaching their expiry date be tested using the methods applied to newly manufactured products. https://www.who.int/rabies/vaccines/potency_requirements/en/ |

target potency vaccine vacuna de potencia objetivo Explanation: Potencia y eficacia son conceptos distintos en inmunología. Potency se traduce como potencia. https://vichsec.org/en/outreach-forum/index.php?option=com_a... "Efficacy vs Potency Efficacy (immunogenicity): -Direct effect of a treatment on an individual subject -Pivotal host animal vaccination-challenge study Potency: -Serial or batch measure -Direct or indirect" https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12782051/ "Because of the complexity of pathogenic processes and associated immune responses, potency tests may not always directly predict the effectiveness of a vaccine. Thus, vaccines that pass control potency testing may not always provide adequate efficacy." " Also, the effects of the dose and duration of antigen exposure as well as the nature of antigen presentation and generation of extrinsic cytokines could be characterised and correlated to vaccine potency as additional indicators of vaccine efficacy.
