marketplace

Spanish translation: "mercado" / ámbito laboral / and other options

Religion / Business as mission
English term or phrase: marketplace
I dream of disciple-makers from all professions bringing God's love to life in the world's least-reached "marketplaces".
The term is repeated numerous times and the idea is that today's missionaries aren't necessarily religious professionals but people in business & professional fields who are able to make everday-type contacts with people, offer jobs, etc.
I find definitions such as plaza, mercado, mercado de trabajo... not sure I think they get the idea. I have also seen medio laboral & think ámbito laboral might work. Basically the world of daily work & business as opposed to a religious setting.

Spanish translation:"mercado" / ámbito laboral / and other options
Explanation:
Using quotation marks is a “solution”.

I’d go simply with “mercados”.

Also “ámbitos laborales”, “esferas de trabajo”, “esferas laborales” are options, but in this case, (if you use one of these options) I’d think you would not need to use quotation marks.

Also “all walks of life” ... (gente de todas las profesiones y condiciones sociales), would probably be a valid option, even if a bit more verbose.

I think I'll use ámbito laboral because it's used several times in contrast to "religious work"

I don't think it necessarily means specific business-oriented locations

agree  Susana E. Cano Méndez: "mercados", since there are quotation marks... Maybe "plazas" too, like in stock market.

agree  Jaime Blank: I would use "mercado" in his wide meaning ... not only in the "economic" one. The other possibilities are too narrow and I think they miss the point.

Entiendo que se utiliza en un sentido general, no limitado al mundo de los negocios.
La idea es que el mensaje divino debe "venderse/mercadearse" en todos los ámbitos de la vida.

Dicho de otra manera, "marketplaces" recoge la idea de promocionar el mensaje en todos los sectores.
