Another phenomenon I saw creeping into a church was a sudden shift in its teachings, an abrupt obsession focusing much attention on the “Rapture” or some ‘new’ program. This happened in a soulful place, a church, where everyone knows that God’s word is for us to go forth and make disciples, not to dwell beyond reason on any one singular issue, and especially on things that didn’t serve the evangelistic purpose. The congregation, during this time of its obsession with the Rapture, was being led to focus solely on something other than God’s supreme instructions. In short, it was pursuing salvation by seeking understanding — not in total truth — but in a lie.

neutral  Beatriz Ramírez de Haro: Es que no se trata de lo mismo. No se refiere a un estado espiritual sino al hecho bíblico de que personajes como Enoc o Elías fueran "raptados" o "arrebatados" y llevados a la otra vida sin morir. Es un evento bíblico y por eso lleva mayúscula en inglés.
