English term or phrase: intrusive species
Hi everyone,

I am translating a document about bird surveys (mostly the statistical side thereof). "Intrusive species" is a term that comes up frequently, and I have researched many bird sites, but have yet to find a term I am happy with. Zoology is not one of my main areas of expertise, so I'd appreciate your help.

Here is the exact phrase:
"This sequence was arranged to play vocalization of the most intrusive species last, in order to avoid inhibiting responses from less *intrusive species*."

I am not sure "intrusivo" works, as that's used more in geology than in zoology, I believe. In this context, the "intrusive" appears to refer to the fact that some of these birds are more vocal than others, and will inhibit the recording of some of the more quiet birds' vocalizations (it's a call-response study with pre-recorded vocalizations).

Any bird lovers out there?

Explanation:
Lo estamos pensando... no se trata exactamente de una especie "invasora" en el sentido de que desplaza a otra, sino que canta más fuerte... "jilguero dominante", "ave canora dominante", quizá.

Estoy de acuerdo -- en este documento, las aves no están displazando las unas a las otras, sino que se trata de un estudio en el que algunas aves vocalizan más que las otras, y por lo tanto se diseñó la secuencia del estudio para que las aves más "vocales" se graben hasta el final para que las otras aves que sean menos vocales no se inhiban.

En efecto el término utilizado en inglés no es muy afortunado dado el contexto que ofreces, de modo que tu solución puede ser mejor.

Asker: Gracias, todos, especialmente Aitor. Más contexto: aquí no están hablando de aves que desplazan a otros, sino que se trata de un estudio en el que se quieren grabar las vocalizaciones de las aves que más vocalizan hasta el final, para no inhibir a las aves más calladitas o que vocalizan menos. El término que se sugirió es, claro, muy bueno, pero dado al contexto terminé usando "las especies que más vocalizan". Siento que el término en inglés no es el mejor para describir a lo que el autor se refiere. Gracias por su ayuda.

neutral  Aitor Aizpuru: No creo, iba a sugerir eso. La especie invasora desaloja a la especie local por que compiten por el mismo alimento y ella es más fuerte. Aquí, según comprendí se trata de quién canta más fuerte, y impide el registrar el canto de los pájaros más discretos.
