I understand sort of what it means, but what do we say in Swedish?

Som jag ser det syftas det på berättelselinjen som just den personen följer - på engelska kunde man ocksåp säga trajectory men inte lätt att hitta bra svenskt ord för det heller - alltså i alla fall vägen, snarare än målet.

Det är samma arc som i story arc. Det senare begreppet översätts ibland till berättelsebåge, men kanske fungerar något i den här stilen bättre: dramers/berättelsers struktur, förlopp eller utveckling. Det finns även specifika story arcs, t.ex. Freytags pyramid.

I analogi med ovanstående skulle jag föreslå något i stil med karaktärsutveckling för character arc.
