Jag översätter instruktionshandboken för en ofullständig maskin (en tryckmaskin) som används inom tryckeribranschen, och då står det så här:

The ink chamber is pressed against the anilox roller via spindles.
The pressure should be as low as possible but still high enough for the ink to be scraped off cleanly and evenly without "cloudiness" or streaks.
The anilox roller is adjusted against the plate roller via hand wheel so that the ink is transferred uniformly, without squeezing, from the cells onto the plate.
Do not press too hard.
The plate roller in turn is also applied via hand wheel against the material web to transfer ink onto it.
Again, adjust only strongly enough for the ink to be transferred well (kiss print).
These settings must be repeatedly checked while the machine is running and corrected if necessary.
The amount of ink in the tank must be checked more often especially at the beginning of machine runs until a sense for the ink consumption and thus the replenishment intervals has developed.
