Retro-cool is a culturally outdated or aged style, trend, mode, or fashion, from the overall postmodern past, that has since that time become functionally or superficially the norm once again. Retro style is very popular in today’s digital world.
Retro-cool is used by adults to hark back to the iconic period of their adolescence when there was real style & character as opposed to the standardised glitz of today.
Any ideas of the Turkish equivalent word?

Unfortunately retro and cool are generally used in Turkish exactly the same, especially in spoken language, but my short form suggestion is as above. My long form suggestion is "revaç bulan eskinin modası"

If you say that an adult is pretending that he/she is a teenager & using teen-speak: a) if this contains a negative criticism, we say "gençlere özeniyor", "genç özentisi", "kendini genç sanıyor" b) if this doesn't necessarily contain a negative criticism, then we can say "genç(lerin modasını) takılıyor". imho

Thanks to Atıl for his always helpful suggestions. I've come across the term retro-şik which I rather like for 'retro-cool' but it may not sound natural to Turkish ears; it certainly is a word to do with fashion. I have chosen Türker's suggestion since he supplied me with a lot of other relevant suggestions although I admit that I should have added the additional use in English of adults pretending they are teenagers, who use teen-speak.

Asker: This in its long form covers the term but since I asked the question I have found that retro-cool also refers to adults pretending that they are teenagers & using teen-speak. Is there's a Turkish term for this?
