My wife wanted to take the dog for a walk after a morning of very heavy rain. It seemed to have brightened up so I said 'you've got a 'window' [=opportunity] now'. I put the word 'window' in quotation marks because I said it in a sarcastic voice; it has become such a terrible cliche in the UK. She took my advice & got drenched. When she had come back, she said humorously:- 'so much for your 'window'!
