English term or phrase: Deposit
"Many tenants in the private sector give their landlords a deposit against
possible non-payment of rent or damage to property."

I am unsure about the exact term to be used here for 'deposit'. Some alternatives are 'پیشگی ادائیگی', 'زر ضمانت', 'امانت' etc.

Urdu translation:'زر ضمانت'/Deposit
Explanation:
'پیشگی ادائیگی' Is generally used for ‘Down Payment’
امانت is also not proper word for ‘Deposit’
You may use 'زر ضمانت' or simply can transliterate this term.

ڈیپاذٹ

Explanation:
My honourable fellows have translated the term "Deposit" into differnt terms in Urdu. If we translate these terms back into English, we'll note that in most cases the translation is inappropriate like raqam behana=this term is used when some one buys the stuff and pays a little money in advance as a token money, again pashgi adaegi means the advance payment ..the term is never used in Urdu for a deposit for house.Anyhow Zare Zamanat delivers the related sense with the term to some extent. I'll recomend to write the word ڈپاذٹ in the braces to avoid any confusion next to the translated term Zare Zamanat. Thanks
