Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Banking
English term or phrase: G.A. Res. 54/109, 1, U.N. Doc. A/RES/54/109....
This is a reference to something adopted by the UN General assembly. I have to quote it withing Urdu text. I have a good idea what G.A, Res, RES, and Doc, refer to, but those are my guesses and assumptions. If anyone is able to give an asnwer based on knowledge and certainty, I would appreciate it.

g.a. res. 54/109, 1, u.n. doc. a/res/54/109....
To me any referance number needs not be translated into Urdu

Explanation:
What I personally think that the referance numbers are made up of particular characters/numbers/abbrevations and they are always arranged according to the certain assumptions and rules. Though these rules are not general in their nature and may vary from organisation to organisation. The contents of a referance number bear a lot of logics in background related with them and translating them into any other language may lost its real function and beauty. There is least or atleast no need to translate them into Urdu especially where majority of the targeted readers of this translation would be able to read atleast referance number as it is, I mean in English. So, in my point of view you should quote it as it is. Thanks

Notes to answerer
Asker: I agree that it would be the best way to keep the reference intact. I am however unable to type english withing Urdu sentences. Also, this document will be accompanied by a full english version, so for now I just want to write in Urdu something which could be read out properly. I will transliterate the single letters like G.A, but for something like Res and Doc, I wanted to write transliteration of the complete word. I agree with your suggestion though, but that wouldn't solve my problem for now.

The second best available option is the transliteration

Explanation:
The second best available option is that of transliteration of whole the contents of the referance number. Does it seem logical to translate these contents into Urdu? certainly not and again the reason is the same as I've explained in my previous posting. I think it is impossible to have its exact translation in Urdu, exact in a sense that could also deliver the real Idiomatic sense of the contents consituting it as what it depicts in its English format. Thanks

Example sentence(s):
  • Res=ریز، Doc=ڈوک،UN=یو-این،G.A=جی-اے
