I do agree with the first part of your entry that Urdu equivalents are coined with Arabic and Farsi synonyms. Regarding your suggested name 'shalaaq zadni', it would have been better if you had explained the meanings of both words constituting 'shalaaq zadni'. I am familiar with 'zadni' being used in Urdu like وہ قتل کے جرم میں گردن زدنی قرار پایا (although here 'zadni' means 'سر قلم کرنا' and it does not fit properly for 'whip lash' when we say that it is a neck 'injury' due to severe shock to the head.) I do not know anything about the other word 'shalaaq', Kindly explain a little. Thanks |
