neutral  Jim Tucker (X): Yes- you're right, that's what he's saying -- but it means "raise standards". ("Bar" here = HU "mérce"). This expression also takes the form of "raise the bar."

agree  Taña Dalglish: I agree. I disagree with Jim's comment. We are asked to comment on what is said in the video, not to get into the meaning; IMO, it goes without saying!

agree  Paula Vaz-Carreiro: I agree that what he says is "lift the bar". I also think he probably means what Jim suggests because he goes on to say "lift the culture" (or some such thing), but it is true that we were only asked for help with hearing and with not meaning.
