English term or phrase: Deputy Superintendent Registrar and others

Being a certified translator in Poland, I have to translate various birth, death and marriage certificates. In my country there are usually 2 types of officials whose signatures can be found on those documents (a registrar or a deputy registrar). So, I get quite confused with the UK functions: registrar, deputy registrar, superintendend registrar, registrar general etc.
Could someone please tell me the differences? Thank you!

Explanation:
There is no uniform regulation and procedure for registering birth. In my country (Indonesia), for example, registration is done by a single person whose title when literally translated into English is "ordinary officer of civil regisration". In case s/he is not available, then there is another person called "extraordinary officer of civil registration".

So, if your Polish title for these persons when translated are "registrar + deputy registrar", use them. People will (or MUST) understand that these terms are applied according to Polish law.
