embedment effects effects of being embedded Explanation: Is this the title of a chapter? I discount this being a sentence. Anyway, I think it is about the way/strength of the main buildings being embedded in the site is reflected in their response to seismic loads and the soil. But I feel that "response" is something strange in this non-sentence, although I could explain it as sg. like 'effect of embedment on the site's response to...' or 'effect of embedment felt/shown/detectable in the site response'.
