hypoglycemic

English translation: (recast sentence)

Science - Food & Drink / Ketogenic diets
English term or phrase: hypoglycemic
I am proof-reading a paper written in English by a Spaniard, about low-carb diets etc:

The fact that an equal number of calories in low-carbohydrate diets are more effective than low-fat diets10-13 can only be explained by the lower metabolic efficiency of low-fat diets. This may be because, from a physiological point of view, the link has been proven between blood ketone levels and urinary ketones14 and that acetone is a volatile ketone, part of which is lost through breathing6. Thus, it would be a loss of energy by means of the elimination of urine and breathing ketones. In addition, if we consider that there is no hypoglycemic in ketogenic diets, even though there is an improvement in the glycemic profile15-18, it is assumed that neoglyconeogenesis has a prominent role.

hypoglycemic doesn't sound right here. Do they mean hypoglycemia?

Explanation:
It would seem that the sentence in question needs to be recast along the lines of:

"Ketogenic diets do not induce hypoglycemia."

The diet itself cannot be "hypoglycemic"

Suerte.
