I agree! It has a double sense — people au fait with the US scene will understand the cultural allusion, while anyone with a less US-centric cultural background will still understand it as the Côté Ouest de la France.

Given the intended purpose of this copy, I don't think any misunderstanding or ambiguity is likely.

I would keep West Coast in French even though it's a bit corny because "West Coast" is the image they are trying to project, a bit like Jean-Philippe Smet calling himself Johnny Hallyday.

I agree with Catherine that cruising combined with coast is ambiguous as it implies a boat cruising along the coast. Also, I think "West Coast" implies California. Certainly wouldn't make me think of France at all. How about just "Touring the (French) Atlantic Coast" or "Atlantic Coast Tour/Gigs" or even "Gigging the Coast"?

There's a line from a well-known period song that goes "Cruisin' Along in My Automobile" which very much fits what seems to be the sun and surf Beach Boys type image this group seek to convey. Est Coast of America of course ... Califronia Gitls an' all that!
The trouble is that 'cruising' these days has an altogether different meaning that would be almost certainly unwelcoem in this poster context: "cruisin' the chicks" — « aller drageur »

I think that "West Coast Cruising" could be misinterpreted in this less appropriate way.

Tour is right, because in American English, "cruising" can be just ambling and dawdling along to your destination, on foot or by car. However, "cruising" is too open to misinterpretation so "Tour" is better.
I think that with their title the rock group are trying to replicate a Californian West Coast vibe.

En fait ce sont des Français qui ont écrit ce titre, et comme je doute sur ce "cruising", je voulais demander à des anglophones. Il ne s'agit pas d'une croisière mais bien d'une tournée dans plusieurs villes comme l'évoque Marie. AllegroTrans, en tant qu'anglophone, "West Coast Tour" vous convient ? Moi je trouve ça bien :).
