Actually I don't understand the whole sentence. I'll post the whole paragraph in the discussion area (so that I can delete it after this problem is solved) for your reference.

The firm that gets that right will have gone quite a long way to achieving that international-domestic model without the same investment in offices or capital, and without a formal alliance or merger.

manage to succeed in
Explanation:
...finding a means of establishing the international domestic model

I think you're getting a bit confused with the tenses here

They HAVEN'T succeeded YET, they are still "ACTIVELY working"
(with those firms) trying establish a means of "delivering a more efficient and seamless service to clients".

So, IF they can manage to succeed in this task THEN they WILL have gone a long way...

same=without having to make any similar investment in offices or capital

so, if they manage to establish a relationship with an "already-existing international firm" then they won't have to set up their own offices.

find the best way of achieving X

Explanation:
i.e. X = "delivering a more efficient and seamless service to clients". The "firm" in "the firm that gets that right" is any of the "relationship firms" they are working with.

Notes to answerer
Asker: What about that "SAME investment in offices or capital"? Same as what? Same as if the PRC firm open offices by itself instead of cooperating with an already-existing international firm?

finds a way of delivering a more efficient and seamless service to clients

Explanation:
The "it" refers to the previous comment - finding a way of delivering a more efficient service. The firm that finds a way of delivering a more efficient and seamless service to clients will have gone a long way to achieving the model they're talking about.

Sorry, the "that", not the "it".

And I guess the writer means that they are delivering a good service in terms of efficiency and seamless working can then skip some of the extra investment and alliances that other less well organised companies have to engage in, in order to succeed in the international-domestic model. So having a partner firm in another country that works in the right way will give the original company an advantage when expanding overseas.

Notes to answerer
Asker: That's also what I thought, but if the firm already found a way to "deliver efficient and seamless service", why there is "still a long way to go"? It is very confusing logically.

Asker: If the "way" that it has found can already deliver "efficient and SEAMLESS (which means perfect)" service, why does it still need to pursue the domestic-international model?

establish working relations with firm in countries they don't directly operate in to serve clients*

Explanation:
Forging partners, alliances, or networks in countries where a firm doesn't maintain offices to serve clients there. "To get it/that" right: to establish relationships with companies in these countries that are reliable and really fulfill the company's needs.
