English term or phrase: Managing partner
What does it mean exactly?
How many managing partners can a company have?
If only one, can the same company have other kind of managers?
I'm really confused.
Thank you.

Selected answer:one of the partners who is also the manager of the business
Explanation:
A business may have any number of 'partners', but not all of them will necessarily be actively managing the business.

It is certainly possible for more than one partner to have a hand in the management.

And yes of course, there may be very many other types of managers in a business — but they would usually be lower down in the hierarchy since they are not partners (which obviously would give them more 'status' in the organization!)
