downward position (pointing downward, relative to the plunger) Explanation: The device in question is something like this: https://www.acclarent.com/solutions/products/balloon-sinupla... At this link you can find the IFU of the device (sorry, I can't seem to extract a direct URL): https://www.e-ifu.com/search-document-metadata/"acclarent in... I am not sure where the asker's source text is coming from, maybe it is an inaccurate translation from another language. The reason I am saying it it inaccurate is that "turned to the low position" and "in the high position" in fact refers to the geometric position, location of the pressure gauge (manometer), not a setting on or of the manometer. In the IFU I linked above, the steps are described as follows - see Page 2, the pictures make everything clear: "Filling the ACCLARENT®Balloon Inflation Device 1.Prepare saline or contrast mixture solution in a sterile bowl. 2. Place the end of the connecting tube into the solution. 3.With the gauge held in a downward position, unlock the ACCLARENT® Balloon Inflation Device and aspirate fluid into the syringe by pulling the piston handle. 4. With the gauge held in an upward position, push the piston handle forward to purge air from the syringe and connecting tube(s). 5. Aspirate additional fluid into syringe and purge air (repeat as needed) until the syringe and tubing are filled with fluid. 6. Push the handle forward to adjust the syringe to the volume required for the balloon catheter as shown in the table. 7. Inspect the tip of the syringe and tubing to ensure they contain no air." I am pretty sure this is what is meant here, regardless of the exact brand of the device. |
