agree  Suzan Hamer: although I might interpret "putrid" as "decaying," "not fresh," and thus "rotten" or "disgusting."

  -> @ Ms. Hamer: You're right. Perhaps it makes some difference to this graveyard of adjectives. Surely not "family listening".
