Being budget pedals, the 2000 models are slender in build and so bear an even more striking resemblance to the first 5000s. This design heritage is immediately apparent in the classic DW ovalised footplate bearing the DW logo and triangulated 0s of the series number. Similarly, the standard DW 101 dual-faced beater gives a choice of playing surfaces while also ***hitting the right visual note.***

Would someone please make it clear what the "visual note" could mean here? It beats me how a note can be visual, so I just can't get it.
The talk is about a new series of drum pedals. The beater of such a pedal has a head that you can turn or rotate thus changing one playing surfaces to another. But what is it supposed to mean that it hits "the right visual note"? I'm kind of at my wit's end...

Katalin Horváth McClure: I agree with the interpretation. The phrase means the beater is visually pleasing, a fancy way of saying it looks good (or cool or whatever style best suited for the given instrument). To me, "visual effect" is something they use in action movies...
